Discover how nuance, variation and the V+ option transform the natural character of oak to suit your decor.

White Oak is prized for its timeless elegance and exceptional visual modernity. Its finely textured grain gives it a noble and balanced appearance.

Natural tones ranging from pale beige to golden brown bring warmth and refinement to any environment. Its understated, distinguished character makes it ideal for both classic and contemporary interiors.

Nuance

White Oak Nuance features a uniform and elegant look, with fine, delicately drawn grain. Boards are selected for their consistency and soft tonal balance, resulting in a bright, soothing surface marked by purity and finesse.

White Oak Nuance

NATURAL COLOR

All color variations are possible.

PRESENCE OF KNOTS

Healthy and/or repaired knots are occasionally permitted up to 3/16" in diameter.

CRACKS AND SPLITS

Open splits are not permitted on the face or at the ends of the board. **

MINERAL STREAKS

Small streaks accepted up to 102 mm (4 in)

MARKS AND CHECKS

Certain oak species may naturally exhibit surface checks. A maximum of 3/4" of surface checking is permitted per linear foot of board. Checks must be stabilized, show no risk of propagation, and be fully covered by the finish. Checks are not permitted at board ends.

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

Slight abnormal color variations accepted (e.g. tool marks, stains on slats, discoloration, bluing, etc.) Open defects must be repaired whenever possible. When repair is not possible, open defects at the center of the face must be smaller than 1/16" in diameter or equivalent. Open defects reaching the edge at the V-joint must also be smaller than 1/16". Warning: Wood is a natural, living material. White oak is a species that may display slight color variations, checks, cracks, or mineral streaks. Please familiarize yourself with the possible natural variations.

(*) In the hardwood flooring industry, there is an accepted allowance of up to 5% for planks that may be misgraded or off-grade. This means that while the vast majority of the flooring will meet our high-quality manufacturing standards, it is possible to find a small percentage of pieces with imperfections or defects. This allowance is standard across the industry and ensures that any minor variations in grading are within an acceptable range.

(**) It is important to note that White Oak may be susceptible to checking, surface cracks, and splitting when exposed to environments where conditions such as humidity levels, temperature fluctuations, and inadequate airflow are not maintained within recommended ranges. These occurrences are natural characteristics of wood and are not the result of a manufacturing defect. Consequently, they are not covered under warranty.

Wood is a natural, noble material. Each board is unique and may display variations in color, grain, and natural characteristics consistent with the selected grade.

Variations from box to box are therefore expected and are an inherent part of the product’s authenticity. They do not constitute manufacturing defects.

To ensure a balanced and harmonious distribution of natural variation, Preverco strongly recommends opening and blending a minimum of 3 to 5 boxes simultaneously during installation. This practice allows tonal differences, contrasts, and natural features to be evenly distributed across the installed surface.

When installation is performed by a third party, it is recommended that the homeowner:

  • attend the installation when possible, and/or
  • clearly communicate aesthetic expectations prior to the start of installation.

Natural characteristics may be positioned strategically depending on the desired visual outcome.

For example:

  • If a more uniform and understated look is desired, boards with more pronounced knots or stronger contrast may be installed in closets, cuts, or less visible areas.
  • Conversely, if a more rustic and expressive ambiance is preferred, these features may be prioritized in open living spaces.

Any board deemed ‘’less desired’’ should be set aside prior to installation. Once installed, it is considered accepted.

Proper planning and clear communication are essential to achieving a final result aligned with aesthetic expectations.
